Three people were killed and one injured in a shooting at a Mukilteo home early Saturday. A suspect has been arrested in Lewis County.
Police were called to the house in the Chennault neighborhood just after midnight. They found the three people dead, said Mukilteo Police Officer Myron Travis. The injured person was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Travis said.
“There were many young people who saw and heard things that no one should ever experience,” Mayor Jennifer Gregerson said at a 4:30 a.m. news briefing at City Hall. Travis said 15 to 20 people were gathered at the home when the shooting began.
Gregerson said early reports about the injured person’s condition were “hopeful.”
“Our community has suffered a great loss tonight,” she said.
Travis, who also attended the briefing, which was live-streamed by local TV stations, declined to confirm that the people in the home might have been high school or college age.
He said law-enforcement officials interviewed those who had been at the house and they were reunited with their families afterward at a church.
Travis would not give information on the victims’ identities or the person he said had been arrested overnight in Lewis County, based on a description gained from interviews with witnesses.
Travis said an arrest was made
