Here are the most significant NFL injuries in Week 9:
Jameis Winston, QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: After playing through a shoulder injury originally sustained back in Week 6, Winston appeared to aggravate his shoulder on a hit from Saints DE Alex Okafor in the first half. After consultations with the Bucs’ medical staff, it was determined that Winston would be pulled from the game and replaced by Ryan Fitzpatrick; however, he was officially declared questionable to return.
William Gholston, DE, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Gholston remained down on the field after sustaining an injury during the third quarter, and was eventually strapped onto a stretcher and carted off. It was not immediately clear what caused the injury, but Gholston’s face mask was removed from his helmet as he was taken off the field. The Bucs subsequently announced that Gholston was designated as out for the remainder of the game due to a neck injury, and was brought to a local hospital.
