Breaking: Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott denied preliminary injunction, will serve suspension immediately

Elliott played vs. San Francisco and Washington on the TRO – he’s played in all seven of Dallas’ games as the legal battle continued – and totaled five touchdowns, 373 yards from scrimmage in the two-week stint.

Now, Failla will determine whether Elliott can continue taking the field in 2017 with the Cowboys or if he’ll need to start serving the six games the league handed down after its yearlong investigation determined Elliott violated the personal-conduct policy.

The league announced on Aug. 11 that its yearlong investigation found Elliott used physical force against a former girlfriend on three occasions. Elliott denies the findings and says he’ll continue to find to clear his name of the label of abuser.

Monday’s hearing is focusing on whether Elliott should be granted an injunction that would continue to block the suspension while the case winds through the court system.
