Perhaps the only crying person wearing Georgia red and black on Wednesday was Tommy Bush’s niece, unless they were crying tears of joy.

Bush – one of the last-minute finishing pieces in Georgia’s heavyweight signing class – held up a niece wearing Georgia colors as he announced his decision to sign a letter of intent with the Bulldogs, creating one of the memorable images from national signing day when she began crying almost on cue.

That was one of six late additions that helped Georgia lock down one of the highest-rated signing classes in the modern era of football recruiting. Kirby Smart’s staff signed seven of ESPN’s top 25 overall prospects, the most ever for one signing class, including the top player at four different positions.

Bush was one of four ESPN 300 prospects to join Georgia’s class on signing day, holding off Ohio State, Texas and Penn State for the consensus recruiting national title according to ESPN, 247 Sports and Rivals. Smart’s Bulldogs also added five-star cornerback Tyson Campbell, the No. 9 overall prospect, No. 73 overall
