Cleveland Browns signing receiver Breshad Perriman

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Browns are signing receiver Breshad Perriman, a 2015 first-round draft pick, has confirmed.

Perriman was with the Washington Redskins last month. He had been released by Baltimore before his rookie contract was up. He will shore up the Browns’ receiving corps, which lost Rashard Higgins to a knee injury in last week’s win over Baltimore and Derrick Willies, who broke his collarbone in practice on Friday.

Willies will be placed on injured reserve, but it has yet to be determined if he’ll be lost for the season.

Perriman was the only first-round pick in Ravens history to be released before his rookie contract expired. He was taken 26th overall in 2015.

Perriman has 43 catches for 576 yards and three touchdowns in 27 games. He has a history of dropped passes, and missed the 2015 season with a partially torn ligament in his right knee. He was sidelined during the 2016 preseason with a partially torn ACL and battled various injuries early in the 2017 season.
