Former Cowboys DE Greg Hardy wins second professional MMA fight in 17 seconds

Hardy earned a UFC contract after his first professional fight in June, when he notched a 57-second TKO victory over former NFL DE Austen Lane. He once had a 14-second amateur fight at The Bomb Factory in Dallas.

Hardy, who last played for the Cowboys in 2015, was suspended 10 games (reduced to four) by the league for domestic violence. Cowboys officials — who were criticized for giving him a one-year deal — grew tired of his actions on and off the field.

He told SportsDay’s Mark Francescutti he thinks if he can show consistency and discipline in MMA, it will prove to NFL teams he deserves another shot.
