Former Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield makes NFL debut, leads Browns to comeback win

Former Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield appears to have taken over in Cleveland. After a rough start, Mayfield entered the game late in the second quarter and ended up bringing the Browns to a 21-17 win.

The Browns have insisted on playing Tyrod Taylor so far in 2018, but have failed to get into the win column. On Thursday night against the Jets, Taylor struggled mightily and the Browns fell behind 14-0.

Taylor ended up going into concussion protocol just before halftime, giving the former Sooner a chance to cut into New York’s lead. Mayfield did just that, leading the Browns on a field goal drive in the final two minutes of the half.

He made some impressive throws along the way, finishing the half 3-of-4 for 47 yards and a fumble. Taylor was just 4-for-14 for 19 yards tonight.
