FOX Sports Kansas City to televise Sept. 11 Royals game to US troops overseas

Kansas and Missouri National Guard troops serving in Kuwait will get a taste of home on Monday, Sept. 11, when FOX Sports Kansas City presents This One’s For You, a special telecast of Royals baseball.

Kansas and Missouri National Guard soldiers of the 35th Infantry Division, serving at Camp Arifjan in Kuwait, will be interviewed live by FOX Sports Kansas City during the game. The 35th Infantry Division, along with U.S. troops throughout the world, will be able to watch the game live at 3 a.m. Kuwait time on American Forces Network (AFN). In addition, hundreds of their family members will attend the game at Kauffman Stadium.

The 35th Infantry Division, headquartered in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, is composed of Kansas and Missouri Army National Guard elements. After arriving in the Middle East, the 35th ID assumed a key role in Operation Spartan Shield in Kuwait and with joint training throughout the area. Its focus is on partnering with America’s allies in the region.

This One’s For You coincides with the Royals’ annual Armed Forces Night at Kauffman Stadium. The Royals will hold a special pregame ceremony to honor the military.
