Georgia linebacker Natrez Patrick was arrested late Saturday ninght, hours after the Bulldogs beat Auburn 28-7 in the SEC championship game.
Patrick was arrested on an unspecified misdemeanor in Barrow County at 11:50 p.m. Saturday, and booked into the Barrow County Detention Center at 1:30 a.m. Sunday, according to the jail’s online booking log. Barrow County is just west of Athens, in the direction of Atlanta.
It’s the third arrest in three years for Patrick, who was suspended four games following an October arrest on misdemeanor marijuana charges. He was also arrested on a misdemeanor marijuana charge as a freshman in 2015 and suspended for one game.
According to UGASports.com, the school’s student-athlete handbook calls for dismissal from the team after a third drug-related offense. Georgia officials have not yet commented on Patrick’s arrest.
Patrick, a junior from Atlanta, is the Bulldogs’ fifth-leading tackler with 35 stops this season. He totaled three tackles in Saturday’s SEC championship game.
