Georgia linebacker Natrez Patrick arrested hours after SEC championship game

Georgia linebacker Natrez Patrick was arrested late Saturday ninght, hours after the Bulldogs beat Auburn 28-7 in the SEC championship game.

Patrick was arrested on an unspecified misdemeanor in Barrow County at 11:50 p.m. Saturday, and booked into the Barrow County Detention Center at 1:30 a.m. Sunday, according to the jail’s online booking log. Barrow County is just west of Athens, in the direction of Atlanta.

It’s the third arrest in┬áthree years for Patrick, who was suspended four games following an October arrest on misdemeanor marijuana charges. He was also arrested on a misdemeanor marijuana charge as a freshman in 2015 and suspended for one game.

According to, the school’s student-athlete handbook calls for dismissal from the team after a third drug-related offense. Georgia officials have not yet commented on Patrick’s arrest.

Patrick, a junior from Atlanta, is the Bulldogs’ fifth-leading tackler with 35 stops this season. He totaled three tackles in Saturday’s SEC championship game.
