Jeff Horn claims huge upset unanimous decision win over Manny Pacquiao

Jeff Horn has caused one of the biggest upsets in recent boxing history, the Australian defeating Manny Pacquiao on points to win the WBO Welterweight title at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.

The judges scored the fight 117-111, 115-113, 115-113 and Horn became the 27th Australian crowned as world champion boxer, following in the footsteps of the legendary Lionel Rose, Jeff Fenech, Lester Ellis, Johnny Famechon, and more recently Anthony Mundine and Danny Green.

Pacquiao had not complaints with the verdict, descibing Horn as “very tough”.

“I didn’t expect [him to be] that tough,” Pacquiao said after the fight, saying that he accepted the verdict.

“It’s Ok. Part of the game. That’s the decision of the judges. I respect that.”

Horn and Pacquiao each said they were willing to fight again in a re-match.
