The Kingdom Hearts franchise will embark on its first official concert tour this summer, Square Enix announced. Starting in August, fans worldwide will have the chance to hear their favorite tracks from the popular role-playing games live during two different concert series.
The first, Kingdom Hearts Concert -First Breath-, takes place exclusively in Japan. These brass band performances will take place in Tokyo, Aichi and Osaka throughout August. Tickets for the three shows, featuring music from various Kingdom Hearts titles, are now available for purchase.
Fans outside of Japan can look forward to Kingdom Hearts Concert -World Tour-, which kicks off in Tokyo in March 2017. Professional orchestras will play songs from every game as HD footage plays behind them. The tour’s Facebook page says that series director Tetsuya Nomura compiled these videos himself.
Nomura explained the significance behind starting the tour in 2017 on its website: That marks the 15th anniversary of Kingdom Hearts. The first game arrived on PlayStation 2 in 2001. Nomura also mentioned that while the world tour begins after the release of Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, slated for release on PlayStation 4 later this year, the concerts should keep fans excited about the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 3.
Cities that the Kingdom Hearts symphony will stop by in spring 2017 include London, Los Angeles and New York.
