Lions want NFL to review flagged tackle of Elliott

4:48 PM ET

ARLINGTON, Texas — Detroit Lions coach Jim Caldwell said late Monday night he plans on sending defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson‘s third-quarter unnecessary roughness penalty to league officials for review.

Robinson was flagged while tackling Dallas running back Ezekiel Elliott and potentially body-slamming him to the ground. Depending on the vantage point, though, it could have also been viewed as a hard, but legal, tackle.

The 15-yard penalty came on a drive that eventually led to a Dez Bryant touchdown pass to Jason Witten to give the Cowboys a 35-21 lead en route to their 42-21 victory over Detroit on Monday night.

“You know I don’t get into talking about officials and what they call and what they didn’t call,” Caldwell said. “I yell at ’em and tell them what I felt on the field, and when it’s over, it’s over.
