Daniella Rodriguez is still on cloud nine after boyfriend and Astros shortstop Carlos Correa popped the question mid-interview following Houston’s World Series triumph.
“He kept calling me to be next to him during an interview, which I really didn’t understand why cause it’s just a regular interview, so he’s like, ‘Just don’t leave, just don’t leave. Stay right there.’ So I was like, ‘OK,’” Miss Texas 2016 recalled to the Associated Press after Game 7 on Wednesday night.
“I could barely hear what he was saying, and then I hear him say, ‘I’m going to take another big step’ or something like that, and then he says my name and looks at me and I’m like, ‘Does he want me to talk in the interview?’ Then he gets down on one knee and everything else is a blur.”

An emotional Rodriguez, 22, and Correa, 23, embraced after the All-Star proposed to the pageant queen following the Astros’ 5-1 Game 7 victory over the Dodgers. Correa wanted to wait until Houston secured its first championship in franchise history.
“I knew we had championship potential, so I decided to hold out until the last game of the season,” Correa said.
