New England Patriots provided glimpse of how they’ll use Rob Gronkowski and Martellus Bennett together

Martellus Bennett racked up yards after the catch, dropped a few F-bombs, and said, “You go from Disneyland to a beanbag, and it’s a nice beanbag” on Sunday night. 

So, yeah, everything was back to normal for Bennett, who made his 2017 debut with the Patriots in a 41-16 drubbing of the Broncos.

Bennett’s return to New England has made for quite the story. He had been playing more than 80 percent of the snaps with the Packers, but came back from the team’s Week 8 bye with a shoulder injury. He missed the Week 9 game and was ruled out for Week 10 on Wednesday. He was cut later that day, and the Patriots scooped him up on waivers.

Bennett contends that the Green Bay medical staff persuaded him to play through a “major injury.” In a series of Instagram posts, Bennett described how three doctors unaffiliated with the Green Bay staff recommended shoulder surgery. Bennett noted in the post that he “chose surgery.” Yet here Bennett was on Sunday, catching three passes for 38 yards for his new (old?) team.
