There is plenty of blame to go around in Carolina where the Panthers sit in the NFC South cellar just one year removed from the second Super Bowl appearance in franchise history.
While injuries and the curious release of
prior to the season certainly played a role in the Panthers’ slide, the biggest culprit is an offense which sunk from first in the NFL in scoring a year ago (31.2 points a game) to 14th this season (23.5).
Fortunately, the disappointing season does come with the silver lining of an early draft pick. Getting
and the offense back on track could be as simple as reinvesting in the offensive line, a group which has produced at least one top-10 pick since 2005.
With the NCAA and NFL seasons winding down, here is my look ahead to the first round of the 2017 NFL draft.
