NFL Power Rankings, Week 4: Can anyone catch the Rams?

Welcome to For The Win’s NFL power rankings. We’re starting these a little late, but we just wanted to make sure we had a firm grasp on the league in 2018 before jumping to any wild conclusions.

Here’s the approach we’ll use for these weekly rankings: Records don’t matter much. We’re basing this on which teams we feel are currently playing at the highest levels — whether or not the results show it so far.

With that out of the way, let’s power rank some teams…

1. Los Angeles Rams

Record: 4-0
Result: 38-31 W vs. MIN

The Rams defense is going to play better moving forward. I’m not sure the offense can play better than it did against the Vikings on Thursday night. Jared Goff has killed the “System QB” talk with a genuinely impressive start to the season. The Rams are the best team in football and I’m not even sure it’s close.

2. Baltimore Ravens

Record: 3-1
Result: 26-14 W at PIT

The Ravens defense made a strong case for being the best in the league on Sunday night in Pittsburgh, and it will only get stronger with Jimmy Smith returning this week. Joe Flacco isn’t playing at an elite level, but this is the best he’s played since that Super Bowl run.

3. Jacksonville Jaguars

Record: 3-1
Result: 31-12 W vs. NYJ
