QB Connor Cook sharp as Raiders beat Lions 16-10


As expected, quarterback Derek Carr stayed in the Raiders’ preseason opener Friday night long enough to break in a pair of new offensive tackles, complete two passes and stretch his arm on a deep throw to Martavis Bryant.

Carr spent most of the Raiders’ 16-10 win over the Detroit Lions on the sideline, where he watched as, possibly, the competition to be his backup gained some clarity.
