Rob Gronkowski posts a cryptic tweet about his NFL future

The future of New England Patriots’ Rob Gronkowski is still unclear. 

The tight end has been very quiet on his plans for next season, with rumours suggesting he may be retiring from football at the age of 28.

And that’s perhaps down to his history of injuries. Gronkowski has contended with more than most over the course of his career – and recently suffered from a concussion ahead of the Super Bowl.

During the AFC Championship win against the Jacksonville Jaguars, he was hit in the helmet by Barry Church in the second quarter and had to sit out the remainder of the game.

Despite the concussion, he returned for the Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles on February 4, but couldn’t inspire the Patriots to victory. 

And that’s apparently another reason that Gronkowski is considering leaving the NFL.

Success had been almost guaranteed in New England until this year – but with competition growing, he’ll be questioning if the risk is worth the reward. 

It’s not like Gronk would struggle for work elsewhere either. He’s good friends with WWE star Mojo Rawley and has been tipped with a switch to the company for some time.
