Minnesota Vikings defensive backs freelanced on only the first series of the game against the Green Bay Packers, when cornerback Terence Newman covered wide receiver Jordy Nelson, a well-placed Vikings source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The game plan had called for Xavier Rhodes to cover Nelson one-on-one on the outside but not when Nelson was in the slot.

Vikings’ defensive discord raises concerning questions
