Nothing was working, so Matthew Stafford decided to keep the ball in his own hands. And just like everything else the Detroit Lions tried in the red zone, it came up short.

The Lions made five trips to the red zone Sunday and left five times without a touchdown as they lost their third straight game in soul-crushing fashion, 20-15, to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Lions racked up 482 yards of offense against the NFL’s No. 1 defense, but mustered only five Matt Prater field goals that accounted for all of their points.
