Video shows Venus Williams was cut off before fatal crash

Police in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., say security camera video shows tennis star Venus Williams legally entered an intersection June 9 but was cut off by another car, setting off a chain of events that resulted in a fatal crash with a third car. Williams, who was not hurt, has not been cited or charged and police say the crash, which killed 78-year-old Jerome Barson, remains under investigation. Police spokesman Major Paul Rogers said the video has caused investigators to rescind their original conclusion that Williams was at fault and that no blame has yet been determined. Jerome Barson’s estate has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Williams seeking unspecified damages. His wife, Linda Barson, 68, suffered numerous arm fractures.

Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona will be unable to manage the American League All-Star team after undergoing a procedure Thursday at the Cleveland Clinic to correct an irregular heartbeat.
